Kia's number for this recall is SC153. Kia Motors America (Kia) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Sorento vehicles manufactured October 27, 2014, to August 25, 2016, and 2017 Sportage vehicles manufactured December 10, 2015, to August 26, 2016.Bottom line, engine has an extended warranty if 3 things happen first. 1) Must have KSDS software update, 2) have a P1326 code set and 3) diagnosis from dealer finds excess rod bearing wear.
